Why do I need to descale my humdifier?

Minerals from water can build up inside your humidifier over time, especially around the tank and pump. This “scale” can reduce performance or make the unit appear not to work.

Regular descaling helps:

  • Keep water flowing properly by preventing pump blockage
  • Avoid performance issues caused by mineral buildup
  • Maintain quiet, efficient operation
  • Extend the life of internal components

If your humidifier has water, the settings are correct, and it still isn’t performing as expected, descaling is a recommended next step.

How often should I descale?
  • For regular care: Use the descaling powder about once a month to help prevent mineral buildup.
  • If you use your humidifier often or have hard water: You may need to descale more frequently, especially if you notice visible scale or reduced performance.
